Gleneagles Hotel unveils luxury Tower Suite

Gleneagles Hotel, located against the Ochil Hills, has introduced its latest luxury offering: the Tower Suite. Before guests even approach the entrance, the hotel’s historic tower—previously the library—now serves as a striking centerpiece for this exclusive new space.

The Tower Suite is an opulent one-bedroom apartment spread across two levels, featuring Gleneagles’ exclusive private rooftop terrace that provides panoramic vistas of the nearby Scottish environment.

The Suite’s Design

Designed by the accolade-winning AIME Studios, this suite blends the hotel’s Art Deco heritage with the charm of rail travel to craft Gleneagles’ most character-rich accommodation yet.

Drawing inspiration from the Golden Age of Travel, the redesign reflects the hotel’s 1920s origins when the Caledonian Railway Company established Gleneagles to elegantly receive its passengers. This allure is expressed through a distinctly Scottish material mix, layering glossy lacquer, polished brass, and rich timber into a space that balances grandeur and thoughtful design.

The suite’s location stands apart from all others at Gleneagles, positioned above the main entrance and carousel door where guests have been welcomed for generations, beneath the Saltire flag that flies over the hotel.

Interior and Amenities

The accommodation offers exceptional areas for lively dinners and group events, with guests entering through a corridor of black-and-white marble, high-gloss burgundy resin, and Art Deco gold-patterned wallpaper, establishing a mood of luxury and retro sophistication that mirrors Gleneagles’ storied past.

A staircase ascends through two levels, linking a private, timber-lined dining area, to a plush lounge and atmospheric library, where concealed stairs lead to the hotel’s sole rooftop terrace.

In the ten-seat dining room, timber-paneled walls and herringbone flooring set the ambiance for extended meals, conversations, and extra cocktails, while during daylight hours the area also suits professional meetings and work sessions.

A bar carved from Ming Green marble into the paneling and Vintage Art Deco chairs arranged around the table complete the space. The rooftop terrace, accessed via a hidden entrance, provides an ideal locale for morning coffee or an evening drinks event, showcasing sweeping views across the rolling Ochil Hills, Gleneagles’ three famed golf courses, and the Highland gateway beyond.

Personalized Service

The Tower Suite is planned for a visit that feels like a special event. Each stay revolves around the guest, with a single point of contact available from booking until departure, ensuring round-the-clock assistance.

The philosophy is simple – no request is too much. From a morning coffee delivered at exactly the right time to a hot-ticket dinner reservation secured off site, the host will ensure the stay is tailored entirely to the individual.

In the bedroom, a hand-painted bespoke mural by artist Nancy Daniell, capturing the surrounding Perthshire countryside, sits alongside a custom-designed four-poster bed and bespoke joinery in walnut, mahogany and burl.

The room opens onto a breathtaking ensuite bathroom clad in marble, where an Arabescato arch frames the shower and bath, bordered in Nero Marquina detailing and mosaic Art Deco tiling.

For those late night refreshments, there is the Night Pantry, a fully bespoke mini bar complete with fridge, freezer, coffee machine and curated snacks, all tailored to the guest’s preferences prior to arrival.

Prices for the Tower Suite start from £7,750 per night, and it is now available to book on gleneagles.com. The Tower Suite at Gleneagles can be booked by visiting the hotel’s website, where guests can also find more information about the suite’s amenities and services.
