The Marlborough Boutique Hotel & Vineyard is set to expand with 20 new Junior Suites opening in January 2027. The addition includes a wellness space, gym, and a new reception/dining hub. Located on a 16-acre estate surrounded by vineyards and gardens, the expansion aims to accommodate more guests while maintaining the hotel’s signature privacy and personalized service.
Spacious Suites and Family Options
The new Junior Suites are designed to maximize their natural surroundings, offering 517 square feet of space. Each suite features a king bed, living area, freestanding bath, rainfall shower, and a private patio overlooking the gardens or vineyards. The interiors blend natural textures, warm colors, and contemporary furnishings.
For larger groups, the Family Suite provides 861 square feet across two interconnecting rooms and two bathrooms. The suites are spread across six pavilions, each housing three Junior Suites or a combination of suites and a Family Suite, ensuring a private and secluded experience.
Wellness and Dining Enhancements
The expansion introduces a dedicated wellness space with four treatment rooms, a sauna, cold plunge, and areas for Pilates and yoga. A separate gym is also included. Guests will check in at the new reception/dining hub before being escorted to their suites via electric cart.
Executive Chef Wieland Matzig will launch The Source, a new restaurant focusing on wood-fired pizzas and seasonal dishes using produce from the estate’s gardens. This complements the existing Harvest Restaurant, which continues to offer an raised dining experience.
Guest Experiences and Regional Exploration
Guests can explore the organic vineyards, gardens, and walking trails through guided or self-guided tours. The hotel also serves as a convenient base for regional attractions, including the Marlborough Sounds, Queen Charlotte Track, and Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. The Concierge team assists in tailoring each guest’s stay to their interests.
For those preferring a slower pace, the estate offers ample opportunities to relax, from enjoying the wellness facilities to unwinding on a private patio. Rates for the new Junior Suites start at $1,300 USD ($2,250 NZD) per night for two guests, with bookings available from January 2027.
