Anne-Sophie Pic has introduced a three-course business lunch at Le Normandie in Bangkok, offering French fine dining during midday without interrupting the workday.
Lunch in under 90 minutes, with Michelin-starred quality
The new menu is served Wednesday through Friday and designed to be completed in under an hour and fifteen minutes. It upholds the restaurant’s reputation for precision and service, which secured two Michelin stars after opening in the Mandarin Oriental hotel.
The meal costs THB 4,500++, with optional upgrades for premium ingredients. Starters include roasted Loire white asparagus in Madras curry and coffee sabayon, or Brittany crab with smoked local avocado, Sicilian pistachio, and hibiscus. A highlight is Pic’s signature Berlingots—floral pasta parcels filled with local cow’s cheese, chamomile, and saffron—available for an extra THB 1,000++.
Seasonal dishes inspired by culinary tradition
Main courses feature sardine cooked over embers with zucchini ribbons, passion marigold, and kaffir lime mayonnaise. Those seeking a richer option can order wild sea bass with Kaviari Oscietra caviar and Champagne sauce, a dish originally created by Pic’s father in 1971, for THB 2,500++. Limousin veal rib, served with slow-braised veal cheek, is offered at a THB 4,000++ supplement.
Desserts include Mara des Bois strawberries with matcha ganache, sesame praline, and shiso sorbet, or chocolate mousse paired with mint geranium ice cream and coconut milk rice pudding. The sommelier team has selected beverage pairings, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to enhance the meal.
The lunch service reflects the restaurant’s broader approach, which Pic describes as “Suffusion.” This method combines flavors and textures in a way that feels intentional yet natural. It provides a rare chance to experience that approach without a full evening reservation.
Le Normandie’s location along the Chao Phraya River adds to its charm. The restaurant has long been a retreat from the city’s fast pace, and the new lunch menu brings that escape to midday. For professionals in Bangkok’s business hubs, it offers a brief respite from meetings and work without requiring a long commute.
The menu evolves with the seasons, ensuring variety for regular guests. This flexibility sets it apart in a city where high-end lunch options often lack creativity. The focus remains on quality ingredients, technique, and the understated elegance of a meal that respects time without sacrificing depth.
Recent updates to the executive board at PATA highlight similar attention to detail in leadership, though the restaurant’s approach to dining stands on its own merits.
